In 2014, Cristina made history as the first Latina Full Professor of Media Production in the US, having been promoted to Full Professor in the Department of Visual and Media Arts at Emerson College. Her unwavering commitment to her craft has earned her multiple accolades, including the Mann Stearns Distinguished Faculty Award, the American Spirit Award for Special Achievement in Educating New Filmmakers, and the esteemed title of VARIETY's 2021 Educator of the Year.
